Description
The NCE 5240226 Auto SW Adds a Program Track Output to the Power Cab is the Auto SW — adds a dedicated programming-track output to the NCE Power Cab so you can program decoders without accidentally writing CVs to every loco on the mainline.
What it does: When in Program Track mode, the Auto SW automatically disconnects the mainline and routes the DCC signal to a separate programming-track output. Returns to mainline when you exit Program Track mode. Has no effect on OPS Mode programming (POM). Two wires in from Power Cab, two wires out to mainline, two wires out to programming track — only one output is active at a time. Compatible with all DCC systems. Will NOT work with the SB5 (SB5 has no Program Track mode).
- For: NCE Power Cab + any DCC system with Program Track mode
- Outputs: Mainline + programming track (auto-switched)
- Does NOT affect: OPS Mode / Program on Main (POM)
- Not compatible with: SB5 Smart Booster (no Program Track mode)
- NCE part: 5240226 (Walthers 524-226)
Tip: Essential for anyone who programs decoders frequently — eliminates the 'oops, I just changed every loco on the layout to address 3' accident.
