The Micro Engineering 75-503 is a HOn3 scale unassembled kit of a 50′ Open-Deck Plate Girder Bridge — the prototype's geometry, web depth, and rivet detail captured in injection-moulded engineering plastic and metal.
About open-deck girder bridges: Open-deck construction puts the ties directly on top of the steel girders — no ballast on the bridge itself. You see the timber tie baulks, you see the girder web below them, and the rail rides on the ties as on the rest of the line. Open-deck is the cheaper, more common bridge style — found on the vast majority of US short-span crossings.
Kit contents: Engineering plastic / metal bridge components and instructions. Unassembled and unpainted — assemble per instructions, paint your railroad's bridge colour (railroad-tuscan, black, olive drab — era and road dependent), then lay ME Bridge Flex Track (#11-1xx series, with wide ties and guard rails) on top to finish.
