Description
The KATO 24-010 is a 900 mm (35-7/16′′) strip of N scale cork roadbed — the resilient under-track foundation used to elevate non-Unitrack flex track or sectional track above bare benchwork. Cork roadbed reduces train noise, gives the track a prototypical raised profile, and provides a stable base for ballasting.
How it works: Cut the cork along the centre score line into two beveled halves; glue the halves to benchwork along the planned track centerline with the bevel facing outward; lay flex track on top. The result is a prototype-shaped track shoulder ready for ballasting.
