Description
The KATO 176-8961-DC is an N scale GE ES44AC diesel locomotive in CP's commemorative "Hapag-Lloyd" scheme, road number #8781 — a CP-painted unit honouring the German container shipping line Hapag-Lloyd, one of CP's largest intermodal partners.
Prototype: The GE ES44AC is part of GE's Evolution Series, a 4,400 HP AC-traction road locomotive that became the dominant North American mainline diesel from 2005 onward. CP's fleet wears the candy-red "beaver shield" scheme; selected units have received commemorative wraps.
