Description
The KATO 106-5510 is a 4-pack of N scale TTGX tri-level autoracks in Canadian Pacific's bare-aluminum scheme — CP's silver enclosed autoracks haul finished vehicles between Oshawa, Detroit, and St. Paul on CP's transcontinental mainline.
Prototype: Tri-level enclosed autoracks emerged in the 1970s-80s to protect new vehicles from weather and vandalism. Modern "Multi-Max" tri-level units (Trinity / Greenbrier-built) carry 12-15 vehicles per car. A set of 4 represents a typical block in an autorack unit train.
KATO model features: Brass bearings in the trucks, body-mounted Magne-Matic-compatible knuckle couplers, factory-applied prototype lettering, and a removable internal load module. The four cars come in different road numbers for a varied consist.
