Description
The Digitrax DN143K2 is an N scale DCC mobile decoder — 1.0A continuous / 2A peak motor control, 4 function outputs with Digitrax FX3 prototypical lighting effects.
The Budd RDC is a self-propelled rail diesel car — and the prototype has a unique lighting setup: yellow lamps light in the direction of travel; red lamps light in the opposite direction. The DN143K2 reproduces this automatically — lights reverse with loco direction changes, just like the real car. The two function outputs include configurable strobe capability for use in non-RDC locomotives. Installation is somewhat challenging due to the model itself; reasonable care during install yields excellent results.
Fitment: Kato N scale Rail Diesel Car (RDC / Budd RDC) — 3 light boards included for prototypical operation. Plug / form-factor: Drop-in decoder kit with 3 light boards for the RDC.
Digitrax LocoMotion® System: Torque compensation for silky-silent operation, 128 / 28 / 14 speed-step support, momentum-based accel/decel, user-selectable normal direction of travel, switching speed feature for fast yard work, 3-step speed tables (start / mid / max voltage), 28-step speed tables with 256-level resolution, and SuperSonic™ silent motor drive.
FX3 function outputs drive lighting with realistic prototype effects: constant brightness with directional or independent control, optimized LED-or-incandescent operation, ditch-light alternating flash, Mars lights, gyralights, strobes, and configurable pulse mode on all outputs.
About Digitrax: Digitrax is the North-American DCC pioneer — the LocoNet bus and full NMRA DCC compliance are interoperable with all NMRA-DCC-compliant systems and accessories.
