Description

The Circuitron 6200TB SMAIL Slow-Motion Switch Machine with Screw Terminals is the terminal-block (TB) version of the standard SMAIL 6200 — same Tortoise-form-factor slow-motion switch machine with built-in DCC decoder, but now with screw-terminal wiring instead of a soldered PCB edge.

What it does: All the goodness of the SMAIL — silky slow-motion throw, NCE Switch-It™ DCC decoder, two-wire DCC bus connection — but with screw terminals built onto the board instead of solder pads or an edge connector. No ZipZ required; just strip and screw your layout wiring straight to the machine.

  • Type: Slow-motion stall-motor + integrated DCC decoder + screw terminals
  • Mounting: Same as Tortoise (use template 6190)
  • DCC: 2-wire to DCC bus, no separate power supply
  • Decoder: NCE Switch-It™ technology
  • Aux switches: Internal SPDT contacts, 2 A AC / DC
  • Vs. 6200 (non-TB): TB version has screw terminals — no ZipZ needed
  • Circuitron SKU: 6200TB (Walthers 800-6200TB)

Tip: Best choice if you don't want to mess with ZipZ connectors or solder pads. Step up to the 12-pack (6212TB) if you need a lot of them.

About Circuitron: A USA-made model-railroad electronics specialist (Maryville, Illinois) founded in the 1970s. Famous for the industry-standard Tortoise slow-motion under-table switch machine and its surface-mount cousin the SMAIL. The full range covers detection (block detectors, Opto-Sensor grade-crossing logic), automation (auto-reversers, external relays, twin-coil alternators), signal / lighting electronics (alternating flashers, ditch-light oscillators, strobe drivers), power supplies, and a complete set of Tortoise / SMAIL replacement parts plus the solderless ZipZ connection system. Most circuits work with AC, DC, or DCC track power unless specifically noted otherwise.
