Description
The Circuitron 6606 ZipZ Solderless Screw Terminals for Tortoise & SMAIL (6/pkg) is the 6-pack cost-saving version of the ZipZ solderless connection system — six edge-connector + terminal-block assemblies for Tortoise / SMAIL switch machines, fully assembled and ready to use.
What it does: Each ZipZ™ slides directly onto the Tortoise™ or SMAIL™ circuit board (works with both current and older tan PCBs); your layout wiring screws into the matching terminal block. No soldering at the switch machine. The 6-pack saves money vs. buying six individual 6601 units.
- Quantity: 6 fully assembled ZipZ units
- For: Tortoise (current + tan PCBs) and SMAIL switch machines
- Connection: Slide-on edge connector + screw-terminal block
- Soldering: Not required at the switch machine
- Vs. 6601 single: Lower per-unit cost
- Vs. 6616 ZipZKit: 6606 is pre-assembled, 6616 is a soldering-required kit
- Circuitron SKU: 6606 (Walthers 800-6606)
Tip: Best value if you've committed to Tortoise / SMAIL across the layout and want quick removable wiring on every machine.
About Circuitron: A USA-made model-railroad electronics specialist (Maryville, Illinois) founded in the 1970s. Famous for the industry-standard Tortoise slow-motion under-table switch machine and its surface-mount cousin the SMAIL. The full range covers detection (block detectors, Opto-Sensor grade-crossing logic), automation (auto-reversers, external relays, twin-coil alternators), signal / lighting electronics (alternating flashers, ditch-light oscillators, strobe drivers), power supplies, and a complete set of Tortoise / SMAIL replacement parts plus the solderless ZipZ connection system. Most circuits work with AC, DC, or DCC track power unless specifically noted otherwise.
