Description
The Circuitron 6601 ZipZ Solderless Connection System - 1pc is the ZipZ — solderless edge-connector + terminal block for Tortoise / SMAIL switch machines. No more soldering wires onto the machine PCB.
What it does: Single-piece package. The ZipZ™ edge connector slides onto the Tortoise™ or SMAIL™ circuit board (works with both current and older tan PCBs); your layout wiring screws into the matching terminal block. Re-wire or remove a Tortoise without ever touching a soldering iron. Available as this single-piece pack and as a cost-saving 6-pack (6605 / ZipZKit).
- Quantity: 1 piece
- For: Tortoise (current PCBs + older tan PCBs) and SMAIL
- Connection: Slide-on edge connector + screw-terminal block
- Soldering: Not required at the switch machine
- Circuitron SKU: 6601 (Walthers 800-6601)
Tip: Once you've used a ZipZ on one Tortoise, you'll want them on every one — they make troubleshooting and future rewiring trivial.
About Circuitron: A USA-made model-railroad electronics specialist (Maryville, Illinois) founded in the 1970s. Famous for the industry-standard Tortoise slow-motion under-table switch machine and its surface-mount cousin the SMAIL. The full range covers detection (block detectors, Opto-Sensor grade-crossing logic), automation (auto-reversers, external relays, twin-coil alternators), signal / lighting electronics (alternating flashers, ditch-light oscillators, strobe drivers), power supplies, and a complete set of Tortoise / SMAIL replacement parts plus the solderless ZipZ connection system. Most circuits work with AC, DC, or DCC track power unless specifically noted otherwise.
In stock at Oakville Model Trains Depot.
