Description
The Atlas 849 is an HO Code 100 dead-end uncoupler section — a short Snap-Track piece with a permanent magnet beneath the ties at one end and a bumper post at the other. Pushing a train over the magnet uncouples Kadee-style magnetic couplers automatically; the bumper terminates the spur.
How it works: The buried rare-earth magnet swings the steel uncoupling pins on Kadee #5, #58, scale-head, and most modern magnetic knuckle couplers as cars pass over. Slow the train, stop directly above the magnet, then back up to leave the spotted car behind — classic remote uncoupling for industrial spurs and yard tracks.
