Description
The Atlas 790 is a 4-piece pack of HO scale girder loads — molded I-beam structural-steel shipments sized to ride on 50′ or 89′ flat cars. Each girder is painted matte tuscan/oxide red and ready to place; no assembly required.
Girder loads simulate the classic flat-car traffic of fabricated structural steel moving from rolling mills (Bethlehem, US Steel, Inland) to bridge fabricators and construction sites — a heavy-haul movement that ran through the entire 20th century and still operates today.
Layout uses: Set on flat cars in a steel-mill train, stage at a fabricator's siding, or load onto bulkhead flats with chains/binders for prototypical realism.
