Description
Atlas 60000051 is a pair of N scale model Ford Fairmont sedans in Medium Blue — Ford's mid-range factory blue — small, finely detailed die-cast street cars sized to populate parking lots and curbsides on N scale layouts. Each car carries moulded side-view mirrors, a separately glazed head/tail-light strip, painted interior detail, simulated rubber tyres, and under-carriage detail.
Prototype: the Ford Fairmont was Ford's rear-wheel-drive compact sedan, built on the Fox platform from 1978 through 1983 in North America. It replaced the Maverick and was the foundation under which Ford built the Fairmont Futura, the Mercury Zephyr, and (with a different roofline) the first Fox-era Mustang. Medium Blue pairs with the Black (#60000004), Light Chamois (#60000007), Dark Jade Metallic (#60000016), and Medium Chestnut (#60000017) Fairmonts for a believable mid-1980s parking lot.
