Description
Atlas 60000016 is a pair of N scale model Ford Fairmont sedans in Dark Jade Metallic — Ford's deep-green metallic factory finish — small, finely detailed die-cast street cars sized to populate parking lots and curbsides on N scale layouts. Each car carries moulded side-view mirrors, a separately glazed head/tail-light strip, painted interior detail, simulated rubber tyres, and under-carriage detail.
Prototype: the Ford Fairmont was Ford's rear-wheel-drive compact sedan, built on the Fox platform from 1978 through 1983 in North America. It replaced the Maverick and was the foundation under which Ford built the Fairmont Futura, the Mercury Zephyr, and (with a different roofline) the first Fox-era Mustang. Dark Jade Metallic pairs with the Black (#60000004), Light Chamois (#60000007), Medium Chestnut (#60000017), and Medium Blue (#60000051) Fairmonts for a believable mid-1980s parking lot.
