Description
Atlas’s N scale Code 55 Super-Flex Track — the prototypical fine-rail alternative to Code 80 for serious N-scale modelers. 30-inch (76.2 cm) flexible section, sold as a single piece.
Code 55 has the same reliable nickel silver rail as Code 80 but with finer brown ties and smaller rail height for more prototypical appearance. The smaller rail profile may not be compatible with locomotives that have deep flanges — check rolling-stock specifications before installing.
How to use
- Cut to length with a rail nipper or fine razor saw.
- Use Atlas Code 55 rail joiners; transition joiners are available to connect to Code 80 sections.
- Pin or glue to cork or foam roadbed; ballast with fine ballast.
- Most modern N-scale rolling stock and locomotives work without issue; older equipment with deep flanges may need wheel upgrades or stick with Code 80.
- Pair with Atlas Code 55 turnouts and crossings for a complete fine-rail trackplan.
