Description
The DCC-with-sound version of road number #5816, in CN’s Grand Trunk Western (GTW) paint scheme. The EMD GP38-2 is one of the most prolific four-axle road switchers ever built, and Atlas’s HO model captures it in 1:87 scale equipped with an ESU LokSound Select decoder for full prime-mover, horn, and bell sounds.
Drive train: five-pole skew-wound motor with dual flywheels, all-wheel electrical pickup; dual-color LED directional headlights; factory-applied wire grab irons; body-mount magnetic knuckle couplers; dual-mode operation on DC and DCC.
How to use
- Plug-and-play DCC/Sound on any NMRA-compliant DCC system (NCE, Digitrax, ESU, etc.).
- Default address 03; reprogram to road number on the programming track.
- Also operates on DC with basic sound at higher track voltages.
- HO Code 83/100 track; minimum radius 18″.
- Excellent companion to other CN/GTW four-axle road power.
