The GE Dash 8-40CW is the wide-cab (“safety cab”) variant of GE’s 4,000-horsepower Dash 8-40C six-axle freight locomotive. Atlas’s Master Gold Series HO model captures the prototype in 1:87 in Canadian National’s Illinois Central (IC) sub-lease paint as road number #2466, with factory DCC and ESU LokSound.

Master Gold features include a five-pole skew-wound motor with dual flywheels, all-wheel pickup, dual-color directional LED headlights and lit number boards, etched-metal radiator and dynamic-brake grilles, factory-applied wire grab irons and MU hoses, and body-mount magnetic knuckle couplers.

How to use

• Plug-and-play DCC/Sound on any NMRA-compliant DCC system (NCE, Digitrax, ESU, MRC, etc.).
