Description
The NCE 5240153 Q-Snap Accessory Decoder for 4 Twin-Coil Snap Switch Machines is the Q-Snap — a DCC accessory decoder that controls four twin-coil 'snap' switch machines (Atlas, Peco PL-10, Kemtron, etc.) from one board.
What it does: On-board LED display + push-button programming, no jumpers. Each of the 4 outputs supports the full range of DCC accessory addresses (1–2041). Runs from track power or an external 9–15 V DC supply. Local panel pushbutton inputs built in. Wiring: two wires to track, three wires to each switch machine.
- Type: Accessory (stationary) decoder
- For: 4 × twin-coil 'snap' switch machines
- Address range: 1 – 2041 (full DCC accessory range)
- Power: Track power or external 9–15 V DC
- Programming: On-board, no programming-track connection
- Local control: Pushbutton inputs on board
- NCE part: 5240153 (Walthers 524-153)
Tip: For one twin-coil machine, the Snap-It (5240115) is cheaper. For four, the Q-Snap is the right buy. For Tortoise / stall-motor machines, use Switch-It Mk2 / Switch8-Mk2.
