Description
The Micro Engineering 75-521 is a HO scale unassembled kit of a 50′ Through-Girder Double-Track Bridge — the prototype's geometry, web depth, and rivet detail captured in injection-moulded engineering plastic and metal.
About through-girder bridges: Through-girder construction puts the steel girders above the deck — rail rides between two tall side walls, with cross-bracing across the top tying the girders together. Used where the bridge deck must sit at minimum height above the river/road below (e.g. low clearance over navigable water), since the girder structure is above-deck rather than below-deck.
Kit contents: Engineering plastic / metal bridge components and instructions. Unassembled and unpainted — assemble per instructions, paint your railroad's bridge colour (railroad-tuscan, black, olive drab — era and road dependent), then lay ME Bridge Flex Track (#11-1xx series, with wide ties and guard rails) on top to finish.
