Description
The Micro Engineering 12-105 is a 6-piece pack of HO Code 83 weathered flex track with concrete ties — modern Class-1 mainline modelling with the rust-patina-on-rail look + grey concrete tie color of just-installed mainline that's seen one season of weather.
Prototype: Concrete ties replaced wood on heavy North American mainlines starting in the 1960s and are now standard for Class-1 high-speed mainline track. Use for modern intermodal, mainline freight, and high-speed corridor scenes.
Weathered finish: Factory-applied rust patina on the rail web and dirt-coloured ties — the track is ready-to-use with a realistic just-installed-and-weathered appearance, saving you the airbrush time of weathering by hand. Non-weathered (10-xxx series) versions have bright nickel-silver rail and clean ties ready for your own weathering choices.
About Micro Engineering Flex-Trak: Micro Engineering is the gold standard for prototypical fine-scale track among serious modellers. Distinguishing features — scale-size moulded ties, tie plates, and spike heads (real spike geometry, visible at viewing distance) and irregular tie spacing that matches real-railroad practice (uniform-spaced model track instantly reads as "model"; ME's variation reads as "real"). Natural brown tie colour, nickel-silver rail.
