Description
The KATO 20-457 is an N Unitrack double-track through-plate-girder bridge, 186 mm (7-5/16′′) long, painted Gray. Two parallel Code 80 rails at 33 mm prototype centres.
Plate girder bridge prototype: Through plate-girder bridges use deep solid-web steel girders along each side of the deck to carry loads above the rail. The cleaner, less visible cousin of the truss bridge — standard practice on countless mid-span North American river and road crossings since the 1900s. KATO's plate girder includes built-in rail on the bridge deck.
KATO N Unitrack system: Code 80 nickel-silver rail molded into a factory-attached ballasted plastic roadbed, with integrated UniJoiners. Unitrack is KATO's flagship N-scale track system.
