The Kadee #178 Whisker® coupler is part of the modern Whisker® series — Kadee's drop-in upgrade to the legendary No.5®. Built-in steel "whiskers" replace the traditional centering spring, eliminating fiddly assembly while delivering even more consistent self-centering action. All-metal construction, made in the USA. Smaller scale-sized head and knuckle for prototypical appearance.

- Use Kadee #205 / #206 height gauge to verify proper coupler height after install
- Trip pin works with all Kadee permanent and electromagnetic uncouplers (#308 / #321 / #322 / #309)
