Description
True-Track is Atlas's HO Code 83 sectional track system with integrated gray plastic roadbed molded to look like ballast. Sections snap together with positive locking tabs.
The Atlas #460 is a four-pack of 18-inch radius curved True-Track Code 83 sections — the standard tight-radius curve in the True-Track lineup, sized for shorter four-axle diesels and small steam (up to about a 4-6-2 Pacific). 18-inch radius is the practical minimum for an HO Code 83 layout. Each section sweeps 22.5° — so 16 sections (four 4-packs) form a complete 360° circle.
How to use
- Connect to other Atlas True-Track Code 83 sections via the integrated snap-lock roadbed joiners.
- 16 sections of #460 = one full 18-inch radius circle (~36-inch / 91 cm diameter footprint).
- For broader curves use the 22-inch radius #462 or 24-inch radius equivalent.
- Pin or glue with track nails or latex caulk; ballast edges with Woodland Scenics Fine Ballast.
- Pair with #452 (3" straight), #453 (1.5" straight), and #454 (2" straight) sections to lay out figure-8s, ovals, and dogbones.
