Description
The Atlas #361 is a printed track-planning template set for HO scale — exact paper replicas of every currently-available Atlas HO track section, turnout, crossing, flex section, and accessory. You cut each piece out and lay them on your planning sheet just like real track, then re-arrange until the layout works on paper.
This is the analog companion to any layout-design CAD program — invaluable for beginners visualizing how a plan fits the available space, and for experienced builders checking that a complex track arrangement actually fits before bending the rail.
How to use
- Cut each template out with scissors or a hobby knife — accuracy matters, so trim to the printed line.
- Lay templates on a sheet of butcher paper, plywood, or graph paper to compose a candidate plan; tape them down once you're happy.
- Trace around the templates with a pencil — the resulting outline is your full-size 1:1 layout plan.
- Pair with Atlas's HO Code 83 / Code 100 sectional or flex track to build the plan in real life.
- Also useful for staging-yard fits, engine-terminal throat geometry, and curved-turnout placement.
